 Senior Accountant

Hankin Group, a real estate development and property management company located in Exton, PA has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant with 3+ years of accounting experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will also have some relevant industry experience. The role requires a solid accounting and analytical foundation with the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day, monthly and year-end functions within the Accounting Department
  • Prepare Sales and Use tax returns in a timely manner
  • Cross train in Residential, Construction and Commercial Accounting
  • Assist in yearly budget preparation
  • Accounting for multiple entities as assigned
  • Quarterly billings for multiple entities as assigned
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations
  • Semi-monthly analytics and trend review of financial activity as compared to budget
  • Demonstrate a thorough financial knowledge of assigned entities as it relates to their business
  • Quarterly workpaper preparation for assigned properties including analytics and trend review

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent

Apartment Maintenance Manager

Hankin Apartments is currently seeking a Tenant Services Manager to join our team! The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, versatile and well skilled in many trades and will contribute to the success of our largest award-winning community.  The Tenant Services Manager, along with the Community Manager, is responsible for achieving the targeted resident retention goals of the community.  The Tenant Services Manager achieves this by proactively maintaining the community at the highest possible level and by delivering a superior customer service experience.

Expectations and Responsibilities

  • Oversee Maintenance Operations for the Community
  • Assist the Director with developing the capital improvement budget, ensure all work adheres to the budget and is completed in a cost effective and timely manner
  • Record and maintain information pertaining to property operations to clearly identify and substantiate cost
  • Implement a preventive maintenance program to cover fixed assets on a rotational basis
  • Inspect units to determine extent of needed service to turn over the unit in 10 business days
  • Ensure the condition of the community grounds is clean and safe
  • Ensure top working condition of all company owned equipment
  • Proficient in all company issued software and office equipment
  • Deliver Exceptional Customer Service
  • Coordinate resident work orders with the Team and confirm all tasks are effectively completed within 1 business day
  • Communicate to the Leasing Team any outstanding issues related to open service orders
  • Work closely with Team members to ensure all communications with residents, vendors, and contractors are being conducted in a timely, courteous and professional manner
  • Investigate, settle tenant complaints, and ensure tenant satisfaction
  • Maintain, manage and lead a Valuable Team to ensure professional and courteous service
  • Develop the Team by providing ongoing skill building and learning opportunities
  • Adhere and Enforce Building, County Codes and Safety Standards
    • Schedule required inspections and maintain contact with fire, police departments and other agencies to ensure protection and compliance with codes and regulations
    • Act in accordance with company, local, state, and federal guidelines as well as relevant industry standards and laws (MSDS, OSHA Law & Regulation, Americans with Disabilities Act, the Federal Fair Housing Amendment Act, and local housing laws)
    • Maintain and update operating and training manuals
    • Investigate all accidents and injuries and prepare reports of findings

 

Required Experience and Technical Skills

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of full facility management
  • Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in Property Management or similar field
  • Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, HVAC, and interior/exterior maintenance
  • Certification in HVAC a plus
  • Experience with industry software systems and Microsoft Office, Yardi a plus
  • Experience with purchasing and budgets
  • Able to manage the day to day activities efficiently
  • Must be a strong leader and team player

Tenant Services Associate

Hankin Apartments is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team! The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, versatile and well skilled in many trades. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the overall maintenance of the Community by utilizing in-depth knowledge of related trade skills and delivering a superior customer service experience.

  • Maintenance of the apartment community buildings and units
  • Work closely with team members and contractors to complete unit turnovers
  • Respond to all maintenance requests within 1 business day
  • Proactively repair all maintenance problems and document accordingly
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager with completion of the quarterly preventive maintenance inspections and respond immediately to problems
  • Ensure the condition of the Community is clean and safe, cleared of any debris or weather related matter
  • Must deliver exceptional customer service to our residents
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude with internal and external customers
  • Provide “on-call” coverage to answer questions and/or respond to emergency situations one week monthly
  • Communicate with the Leasing team daily regarding any outstanding issues related to open work orders
  • Comply with the Company’s operating and safety policies and procedures

Required Experience and Technical Skills

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician, preferably in Property Management
  • General knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, tile and flooring work
  • Certified Apartment Maintenance Technician (CAMT) certification preferred
  • Knowledge of risk management, OSHA and MSDS
    • Comprehensive knowledge of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, appliance repair, HVAC, and interior/exterior maintenance
    • Experience with industry software systems, Yardi is a plus and Microsoft Office
